Joiaman Cunha Oliveira is a Brazilian artist born in Bahia on June 1, 1971. His stage name is Joiaman.
A training pedagogue, she has always considered study and education as a salvation. From an early age, she was always drawn to artistic expressiveness, and her curiosity was a living flame that allowed her to understand her place in the world. Contact with the wilderness, in the surroundings of his Bahia, was a significant element of his youth and his growth path. As were her numerous participations in amateur theatre performances and literary competitions, where Joaiman gained recognition for her poems and her literary creations cordel (a type of popular poem written in rhyme). But despite this, the artist felt that something was missing from his creative quest. So in 1991 things finally change.
Attending an exhibition of paintings and sculptures in his Salvador de Baia, Joaiman feels that something is turning upside down in his life. She is captivated by the colors and plasticity of the works, and inside she realizes that seeing a painting up close for the first time is a fantastic experience. At that very moment the world around her begins to turn in the right direction again, and for Joaiman everything magically begins to gain meaning. In 2000 he took part in his first exhibition in his hometown, where he presented oil and collage works. A year later, with the financial help of local entrepreneurs who believe in his talent, he created the project \u201cOfficina A Luce Della Arti\u201d, in which groups of children and adolescents from disadvantaged areas of Brazil participate in art classrooms and develop paintings and literature that culminate in a public presentation. Passionate about Modigliani and Picasso, who for the author have always been authentic artistic models, Joaiman tries to convey in her works a veil of eroticism, mixed with sweetness, serenity and harmony. His works are marked by strong colors, where vibrant yellows, reds and blacks abound. The artist has never denied his Bahian roots, and perhaps because of this he influences his works, which are always generous in color and emotion. \u201cWe are born mortal but the brush makes us eternal\u201d.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
