Antonello Capozzi

Painter, engraver, sculptor, designer, Antonello Capozzi was born in Pisticci, in the province of Matera, on August 20, 1972.
At a very young age he already showed a great passion for drawing and painting, so after graduating from the Academy Art High School, he deepened his painting career by attending the Academy of Fine Arts.
In his works the artist uses a technique that evokes, through a repeated sequence of images, the speed of everyday life in the Metropolises. His canvases, tools for encoding new aesthetic codes, testify to a rapidly evolving reality and a constant search for new languages, malleable through the fusion of the arts, materials, and techniques. Capozzi exhibits large-scale canvases in the space of the Horti Lamiani Bettivò Gallery, which show how the contemporary expressive style easily allows for the diversification of languages and content.
In his works, generic elements possess an individual characterization thanks to color, which distinguishes what male and female genes, maternal and paternal, sometimes have in common. From these elements moves the artist's personal research which starts from the analysis of colour and character and
delves deeper, focusing on juxtapositions and possible contaminations. 
The need to investigate the intimacy of the human race, however, is particularly expressed in recent works through the study of objects that recount moments, more or less long, in the life of each of us.
These are objects that testify to the habits, vices, and defects of the human race and therefore have the strength to actively involve and provoke every observer.
